Chicago vs Minnesota Prediction: the Hawks to Stay in Top-3

Chicago is tied for the top three in the Central Division standings. Thus, on the eve of the game with Minnesota, the Blackhawks have nine points, two points less than the first Dallas. In the current season, Chicago already had a winning streak of four games, but now things are not so rosy. In the last two games, they suffered a lot of setbacks. First, they lost to Edmonton (5:6) and then on the road to Buffalo (4:3 in OT). 

Minnesota did not have the best first half of the back-to-back. They faced Detroit on the road and failed by a minimal score (1:2) with not the most convincing playing. Before that, the Wild won two games in a row, 7:3 (3:1 over Montreal and 4:2 over Ottawa). Thus, the team's position in the Central Division standings deteriorated slightly. They are now two points short of the playoff spot. 

The bookmakers are leaning toward a win for the second team, which we disagree with. Minnesota showed mediocre hockey in the first half of the back-to-back, which should be easy bait for Chicago. The Blackhawks look great at home this season, ranking fourth in the Western Conference. In our opinion, the safest bet in this matchup is not to lose to the hosts.
