Pittsburgh, whose chances of making the playoffs were last seen as nil, find themselves in the coveted eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings with three games remaining in the regular season. Not only that, but the Pennsylvania outfit's schedule is tough. Their closest rivals are Boston, who remain in the hunt for the President's Cup, while the Bruins have traditionally played well against the Penguins, winning four of the last five meetings. 

Throughout the regular season, Boston did not want to play well or effectively. As the playoffs got underway, they turned on the Cup mode, and things went from bad to worse for the Bruins. In their six previous games, they scored and conceded a total of 25 goals (an average of 4.17 per game), which is extremely modest by NHL standards.
