That's not to say that Tampa Bay is approaching the game against Florida in good shape. They have won three of their last five games, two of them within regulation time, 4:1 over Philadelphia and 5:2 over Nashville, and one outside over Toronto (4:3). Florida is performing far worse than its upcoming rival this NHL regular season. The only significant advantage the Lightning have is the home stands, as the Panthers have shown far from the best quality of hockey on the road - six wins in 15 games. In our opinion, the safest bet in this pairing is for the hosts not to lose, strengthening the odds with the total over.
