Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Rangers Prediction: Lighting's back-to-back

Tampa Bay holds a back-to-back. After the match with Montreal, John Cooper's team will host the New York Rangers on its ice. Will Lightning be able to cope with such a difficult test?

The Lightning's match with Montreal will end after the publication of this text. Before that, the John Cooper team conducted another back-to-back and lost both parts. First, Tampa Bay lost 1-2 to Toronto and was indecently beaten by Detroit 4-7. An unfortunate result, which, however, happened after an excellent series of five consecutive victories. So the Lighting is going the distance of the championship with differences, but, in general, they confirm their high class. In the summary table, Tampa Bay currently occupies the ninth place, but in the Atlantic Division, it is located in the playoff zone.

On the eve of the trip to Amali Arena, Gerard Gallant's team played two consecutive home matches. The first match was great for the Rangers – a bright 5-3 victory over the New York Islanders. But the second one brought disappointment – a hopeless 0:4 from Washington, which gained momentum. In principle, and over the entire season, the Rangers are moving unstably, alternating between successful matches and, frankly, failed ones. In the summary table of the East, New Yorkers are seventh but only fifth in the Metropolitan Division – behind Carolina, New Jersey, Washington, and Pittsburgh.

The Lighting has a back-to-back. And although the first opponent will not be very strong – Montreal, it will be very difficult for John Cooper's team to score two points in the confrontation with the New York Rangers. At least, it seems that the bookmakers have greatly overestimated the possibilities of Tampa Bay in the upcoming game, which is certainly worth taking advantage of. Gerard Galland's team can count on at least one point here. In addition, in the last regular season, the Rangers took all three full-time games from the Lightning.
