The Jets have been on a roll lately, winning five of their six games ahead of their meeting with Dallas. During this stretch, Winnipeg defeated St. Louis, Los Angeles, Arizona, Montreal, and Chicago, losing only to the Western Conference leader Vegas. And even that outside of regulation time, 1-2 (1-1). Apparently, Winnipeg had grown accustomed to the demands of new coach Rick Bowness, who had previously coached Dallas.

Dallas seemed to be slowing down after losing one of its best starting NHL goaltenders, Jake Oettinger, to injury. But for now, with Scott Wedgewood at the last line, the Stars continue to win. Dallas lost to the New York Rangers (3-6) but got three wins in a row. First, Peter DeBoer's team handled Los Angeles (5-2), then they beat Arizona (7-2), and after that, they threw in an away game against Edmonton (6-2). Dallas is doing just fine against the odds.

Dallas has won three games in a row. But after all, Winnipeg has recovered in the main time lately. The upcoming meeting will be very tough, but a slight edge should be given to the Jets. And not just because they're playing at home. Oettinger's absence for the Stars should come into play sooner or later, but against Winnipeg with Connor Hellebuyck in goal.
