Barry Hawkins vs. Zhang Anda: Settling the Past Dispute in Gibraltar Open 2022

Barry Hawkins and Zhang Anda, famous for their exceptional match at Welsh, will now be facing each other on 24th March in the Gibraltar Open first match of the first quarter. The fans are piqued to find out who makes a mark this time.

Barry Hawkins is a professional English snooker player from Ditton, Kent. He went professional in 1996 but rose to fame during the 2004–05 snooker season, reaching the last 16 of the 2004 UK Championship, the quarter-finals of the 2004 British Open, and the semi-finals of the 2005 Welsh Open. He has now spent twelve seasons in a row rated inside the top 32. At the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open, Hawkins reached his first ranking final and won his first ranking championship.

Hawkins has now reached the World Championship semi-finals in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018, and he has finished second in the Masters in 2016 and 2022.

Zhang Anda made his debut on the Main Tour in 2009-10, qualifying by winning ACBS Asian Under 21 Championship. The 24 year old from China has been playing professionally since he was just 16 years old and is now one of the most promising snooker players! Zhang resides in Sheffield, England, during the snooker season and practices at the Victoria Snooker Academy.

In the 2019/2020 season, Zhang remained outside the Top 64 for the whole season due to a very bad run of form and could not reproduce recent accomplishments. In the 2020/2021 season, he dropped outside the Top 64 and lost his Tour card due to his previous terrible season.

The past two seasons of Zhang Anda have been a disaster to conclude in one word, which shows that this would be a tough fight for Zhang against Barry Hawkins, who is in his best form and is one of the most experienced Snooker players.
