Andrey Rublev vs Jack Draper Prediction: Waiting for Andrey's Victory

Andrey Rublev's first opponent at the US tournament will be the British player Jack Draper, No. 81. The guys not long ago, namely at the beginning of May 2022, played in Madrid and Andrey won the match in three sets. Logically, the number 8 on the ATP ranking is the favorite for the upcoming game.

For Andrey, the Washington event will be the first hard-court tournament in a long time. He played only one match on the grass. After losing to Basilashvili in Halle, Rublev played two clay tournaments in Bastad and Hamburg. In Sweden, he defeated Coria and Djere, losing to Baez. In Germany, he knocked out Berankis and fell to Cerundolo. Rublev showed nothing extraordinary, but there is a feeling that the switch to hard court will not be a problem for Andrey.

For Draper, the upcoming match will be his fourth hard one after the grass part of the season. In Atlanta, he beat Eubanks, but lost to Ramanathan. He made 10 aces and six double faults, winning 84% of his first serve points and 46% of his second. Draper had 45%/55% on serve.

Rublev misses the hard court. Everyone knows that he spent his best matches on that surface. So, though the upcoming game will be the first hard one for a long time, nothing will stop him from showing quality tennis. Moreover, the opponent is familiar. The guys played each other not long ago, and Andrey won confidently, albeit in three sets. We believe Rublev has an excellent chance to claim victory this time, too.
