Erika Andreeva

Erika Andreeva, 18, is ready to make her Grand Slam debut at the US Open after advancing through the qualifications last week.

Her path included victories over Dea Herdela, Rebeka Masarova, and Kamilla Rakhimova.

Andreeva's year-to-date record presently stands at 36-14, having spent the most of her season on the ITF circuit. She has had some success, most notably finishing second in a $100,000 event in Spain (as a qualifier) and making a few late-stage performances.

Her track record on the WTA Tour is limited, with her best performance coming in St. Petersburg, when she advanced to the final qualifying round.

.

Petra Kvitova

Petra Kvitova, world No. 21 and former No. 2, has had a difficult year in 2022. Her record is a decent 22-16, but she hasn't been the most consistent player on the tour.

Having said that, she appears to be poised to turn things around in Flushing Meadows in New York.

Most recently, the 32-year-old finished second in the Cincinnati Open, defeating Jil Teichmann, Ons Jabeur, and Madison Keys en route to the final. She eventually lost in straight sets against Caroline Garcia, but she set herself up beautifully for the season's last major.

Other highlights for Kvitova include a championship run in the Eastbourne 500 (her 29th singles title) and quarterfinal appearances in Miami and Dubai.

Expert Betting Tips

Kvitova has the necessary experience and momentum, whilst Andreeva is still a rising beginner star. Petra will start as the favourite for obvious reasons, and she should easily win this one.
