Novak Djokovic vs. Quentin Halys Prediction: Djokovic Is Ready to Play Again

On Thursday, January 5, world number five Novak Djokovic will face 64th-ranked Quentin Halys in the second round of the 2023 Adelaide International.

Djokovic was a 1/33 favourite to win his opening round match against Constant Lestienne, and he delivered as he strolled into the round of 16.

Djokovic played for one hour and 16 minutes before cruising through Lestienne 6-3, 6-2 to go to the second round.

With only one break-point in the set - which happened to be the first of the match against each player - Djokovic broke his opponent three times out of eight chances.

Halys doesn't mind competing in hardcourt tournaments, but based on how things went last season, he prefers indoor hardcourt tournaments.

When it is combined with the fact that his first round opponent is a local, bookies may have placed him at 11/10 - a tiny underdog - to win his first round match.

Jordan Thompson, on the other hand, was unable to overcome Halys' rage, as the Frenchman served 14 aces and won 90% of his first serve points to claim an amazing victory. Halys won 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 17 minutes to set up a meeting with Djokovic.

It's no surprise that Djokovic is a massive 1/50 favorite to win this. What we believe will happen is that Halys will push Djokovic in one of the sets because to his serve and may perhaps force a 7-5 or 7-6 scoreline.
