Brocade has deployed its Edge and switching products to support the high-performance networking requirements of HK movie production house Shaw Studios.

The $200 million deployment has seen Shaw deploy Brocade BigIron RX-16 switches at its two data centers. Brocade FastIron Edge X switches will be used aggregate data traffic from the more than 1,000 applications, desktops and servers using Shaw's network.

Shaw had already deployed a Brocade IP network throughout its studios, and plans to increase this infrastructure to connect all buildings and rooms on a single network.

Shaw's 1 million square foot campus includes sound stages, 18 dubbing studios, a full-service film lab and a 400-seat theater.
