Tests and measurements company EXFO has integrated the EtherSAM evaluation methodology standard into its Ethernet testing products.
EtherSAM is based on the ITU-T Y.156sam standard. It has been adapted to cope with the usage rates of today's mobile backhaul, commercial and wholesale network equipment.
Legacy standards such as RFC 2544 are no longer adequate to fully validate SLAs, EXFO said. The improved standard supports multiservice offerings, measuring throughput on a per-service basis.
EXFO boasts that the testing suite can provide 100% first-time-right service activation.
