Huawei has earned the distinction of having the first modular switch to receive OpenFlow v1.3 certification.

Huawei's Agile Switch S12708 passed 356 test items in the OpenFlow v1.3 conformance test, including functionality and performance.

Evaluated by the authorized testing labs of Beijing Internet Institute (BII) Group-Global SDN Certified Testing Center (SDNCTC), two Huawei fixed switches also passed the OpenFlow v1.3 conformance test.

Speaking about the test, Zhang Pan, vice chair of ONF's Testing & Interoperability Working Group and senior engineer at BII Group-Global SDN Certified Testing Center, noted, "Acquiring OpenFlow conformance certification is very important to commercial network products as it means they fully support the OpenFlow protocols.”

He said performance of Huawei's three switch models during the certification process “demonstrated Huawei's rich experience and expertise in SDN technology.”

All conformance testing is performed by independent, accredited testing labs around the world, providing both impartial validation and Open Networking Foundation (ONF) endorsement.

BII Group-SDNCTC is a member of ONF and the first non-US-based global SDNCTC authorized by ONF.
