The Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA) and the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) have entered a collaborative partnership to develop best practices and advocacy for both organisations' member companies.

The two industry alliances have teamed up to help advocate for best practices in public policy for cloud and data management.

With the agreement, the ODCA aims to expand its reach in Asia-Pacific. ACCA will in turn gain a partner focused on data center infrastructure.

Xinhua Zong, an ODCA board member and general manager for IT and e-commerce at China Unicom, said the collaboration will help extend the knowledge base of both companies.

“With ongoing information sharing and joint advocacy by the ODCA and ACCA, this collaboration will provide a broader platform for both organizations to understand the challenges and opportunities that data centers and cloud computing offer in the enterprise economy,” Zong said.

At the event announcing the collaboration, China Unicom planner and architect Haoyang Lu introduced the operator's new enterprise private cloud strategy, as well as the methodology and practices used to implement it.

As part of ODCA's push into Asia, the alliance has also announced that four Chinese companies have joined up. SINA, China Quality Certification Centre, Qihoo 360 Technology and CNLinkNetworks have all entered the alliance this year.
