Two in three LTE providers believe that their mobile network is too slow, and nearly as many plan to implement technology to speed up their networks in the next two years, according to Flash Networks.

The mobile internet optimization provider said it has surveyed participants at LTE World Summit, finding that while 50% of respondents rated their network as “very fast” (20Mbps or faster), 68% griped that it was still not fast enough.

While the survey should be taken with a grain of salt, it suggests that operators are eagerly awaiting the speed boost promised by LTE-Advanced.

Around 20% of respondents to the survey reported that they already have a solution in place for network speed acceleration, 32% plan to implement one in the next year, and a further 32% in the next two years.

Three quarters of respondents agreed that speed is an important competitive advantage, on par with or ahead of price and coverage.
