SingTel has launched the first prepaid mobile plan in Singapore that enables customers to access Facebook at no extra cost.

“The plan we launched enables our prepaid customers to get their Facebook fix without worrying about incurring additional data charges,” said Johan Buse, SingTel's VP of consumer marketing.

“Many of our customers are avid Facebook users who frequently access the site via their smartphones and tablets,” added Buse.

The plan is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry smartphones and tablets, as well as devices that support the Facebook Java-based app.

The launch of the SingTel's prepaid mobile Facebook plan follows that of Whatsapp and Opera Mini Surf and Mail plans in August 2013. These enable customers to send unlimited instant messages and surf the web for as little as 50 cents daily.
