England have called up Dawid Malan after scrapping Dominic Sibley and Zak Crawley for the third test against India. The move is set in the wake of an embarrassing second innings performance against the Indian pace attack during the loss in the Lord’s. Malan’s last test appearance for England came in 2018 against India.

Sibley has only scored 100 runs in the last 6 innings he has played and has been unable to provide a decent platform as the opener. Meanwhile, Crawley also missed out on the second test and has been in a below-average form. On the other hand, Dawid Malan also is yet to make an impression in the long format as he has averaged only 27.84 making 784 runs across 26 test innings.
