Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo is partnering with the country's largest manufacturer of health and medical equipment to establish a new m-health solutions joint venture.

DoCoMo Healthcare, the new company to be set up with Omron Healthcare, will design, develop and provide healthcare solutions and services.

The company aims to link medical instruments such as body composition, blood pressure and sleep monitors to smartphones and upload data gathered from these devices to the cloud.

This will enable the integration of patient information and the complete management of health-related data.

NTT Docomo said by March 2013, its services will be combined with Omron Healthcare’s data-linking service for measurement devices, to offer new and comprehensive mobile healthcare support services.
