Hybrid networks relying more on product and service catalog

In a recent Perspectives & Insight for Executives report, Stratecast Frost & Sullivan recognized the need for a more centralized and interconnected product and service catalog to support agile service providers running physical, virtual and hybrid networks.

The report goes on to describe the interdependence between operators and software suppliers as they face the coming digital transformation.

It is critical that communication service providers (CSPs) improve and automate the processes and systems that create, sell and deliver their growing and increasingly complex product portfolios.

“The product and service catalog is driving what is arguably today’s most important CSP process — creating and onboarding innovative new services that address multiple verticals, leverage next-generation networks, incorporate partner capabilities, and drive revenue growth,” said Tim McElligott, senior consulting analyst for operations, orchestration, data analytics and monetization (ODAM) at Stratecast’s global competitive strategies unit.

“Elevating the OSS-based catalog over other catalogs in either the MANO stack or within partner environments, will help CSPs place new and existing services in the hands of customers more quickly,” said McElligott.
