Parents of Indian university students will be able to keep much closer track on junior's attendance. Micro Technologies has developed Micro Students Attendance Management System (SAMS) that will, among other features, force students to swipe a card into the RFID reader before entering the classroom. Students won't be able to swipe a friend's card as the device is biometrically enabled and will allow only the owner to swipe the card.

According to Expressbuzz.com, a webcam will capture the image of each student and send all the data to a server where parents can monitor it. A weekly report of attendance and performance can be sent via SIMS or email. Bad news students, over 400 Indian colleges will be implementing SAMS throughout the country.
