You try to get a few bucks for that used iPhone on eBay and what happens? All those very, very, personal videos are accessible on YouTube days after the sale.

You thought you had deleted the nasty data but alas, it’s still accessible for the world to see.

A survey of 50 mobile phones sold on eBay found 50% had personal data still retrievable, including nine with pornography and several with PIN, passwords, credit card information and other personal information.

According to The Guardian, mobile forensic expert Simon Steggles of Disklabs found all this information, including 60% of phones with numbers left on the call log.

Steggles recommends getting a factory reset to completely delete personal information. He said mobile operators need to take this issue more seriously – “it’s shocking what some people leave on their phones.”
