Carrier aggregation (CA) is a very promising technique which can significantly increase the user equipment (UE) peak rate and network quality. So it can be applied in lots of scenarios to improve the user experience and network performance.
Considering the capability to increase the network performance of CA, most of the operators have requirement to deploy CA in their network. To prompt the deployment of CA, the standardization work, product development, testing and verification work need to be promoted jointly.
This white paper provides a technical overview of CA, including the following aspects:
- Analyze the frequency bands allocation of different operators and the CA requirements of the operators based on the spectrum assignment.
- Introduce the technical principle, advantages and application scenario of CA
- Share the current status of standardization and industry.
