China TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology (CNTF) and QIGI have rolled out the first Android-powered phone in China dubbed i6-Goal.

The 624-MHz CPU slim bar-type phone has a touch-screen, business card scanning and GPS functionality, and provides mobile Web access that includes Gmail, YouTube and Gtalk.

TechFaith CEO Defu Dong said the QIGI i6-Goal has amazing potential in China because it is not only for making phone calls, but also provides mobile web access to China's growing customer base.

QIGI president Enhai Xu said the manufacturer has signed sales agreements with "a few well-known" mobile phone distributors in China and start shipping the i6-Goal very soon.
