Australia's Telstra and Telkom Indonesia have cemented their partnership to jointly offer network applications and services (NAS) in the Indonesian market.

The companies have finalized the terms of a joint venture agreement to provide NAS to Indonesian enterprises and multi-nationals operating in the nation.

Once it begins operations, the venture will provide managed data network and security services, cloud and unified communications services. Telstra and Telkom aim to launch the JV in 2015.

“The JV will offer an integrated end to end service, unique in the Indonesian market, by enabling NAS to be bundled with Telkom’s connectivity and sold through Telkom Indonesia and Telstra’s enterprise sales’ teams,” Telstra Global enterprise and services group executive Brendon Riley said.

Former Telstra executive director for customer service delivery Phil Sporton will become CEO of the new company.

Telstra and Telkom first announced plans for the joint venture in January, and the companies have since been sorting out the details.

Telstra plans to lean on NAS and Asian expansion to ensure continued growth despite the mature Australian telecom market, and has indicated that more joint ventures with Asian operators could be on the cards.
