United Kingdom’s newly formed Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Committee(DCMS) has now put pressure on Yorkshire Cricket Club to publish the reports of racism filed by Azeem Rafiq. Earlier, Yorkshire refused to publish the report even after confirming that complaints of racism lodged by Rafiq are valid and that he has been a “victim of racist conduct”, but then refused to share the complete findings fearing that players who tormented Azeem can file a libel case against them. Azeem Rafiq played for Yorkshire as a spinner and found himself constantly being bombarded by racist conduct.

Rafiq labeled the investigation as a “sham” and called out Yorkshire for their refusal to publicize the names of people who engaged in racist behavior with him. Now MP Julian Knight has notified Yorkshire to work on the matter of publication with urgency and the pressure by DCMS means that Yorkshire Cricket is now under fire from people in high positions.
