Aston Martin Formula 1 driver, Spanish racer Fernando Alonso, shared his thoughts on the incident involving a battle with British driver George Russell from Mercedes during the Australian Grand Prix.

The 42-year-old two-time world champion said that he was preoccupied with the condition of his own car.

I was focusing in front of me and not behind. I had some issues for the last 15 laps or something on the battery, on the deployment. I was struggling a little bit at the end of the race, but, I cannot focus on the cars behind. But he's okay, apparently. I saw the car and I was very worried.

On the final lap of the race in Melbourne, the 26-year-old Russell, who was fighting with Alonso for sixth place, lost control of his car and hit the barrier, ending his race. The English driver was unharmed in the accident, and the race finished behind the safety car.

Carlos Sainz Jr. from Ferrari secured victory in the Grand Prix. Alonso finished in sixth place.

In the overall standings, reigning world champion Dutch driver Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing leads with 51 points. Alonso is in seventh place with 20 points after three races, while Russell, with 18 points, is one position below.
