Sergio Perez Loses Three Places In Australian GP Qualification Due To Blocking

Mexican Formula-1 driver for Red Bull Racing Sergio Perez was summoned to the stewards of the Australian Grand Prix due to blocking Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg.

The winner of the qualifying was Dutchman Max Verstappen from Red Bull with a time of 1:15.915. Second place was taken by Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, who set his best lap time at 1:16.185. Sergio Perez initially closed the top three (1:16.274).

In the first segment, Perez hindered the Haas driver who was on a fast lap in the penultimate corner.

Due to the incident, the Mexican will start the race from sixth place. Moving up in the qualifying results were Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, and Oscar Piastri.

The Grand Prix of Australia race will take place on Sunday, March 24. The start is scheduled for 07:00 GMT+3.
