English FC Liverpool has contacted German Bayer head coach Xabi Alonso with an offer to head the coaching staff in the summer of 2024, reported Footmercato.
According to the media outlet, the parties have held the primary negotiations. However, there is no information on whether the 42-year-old Spaniard is ready to change teams and return to Liverpool, where he played from 2004 to 2009.
On January 26, it became known that at the end of the season-2023/24 Jurgen Klopp will resign as head coach of Liverpool. It is reported that the German specialist refused an offer from Barcelona and intends to take a break in coaching.
Besides Alonso, one of the contenders for Klopp's place is the head coach of Sporting Lisbon Ruben Amorim.
