Porto defender Pepe has set a new record in the Champions League playoffs, becoming the oldest field player in the history of the tournament.
The 40-year-old Portuguese player started for Porto in the home match of the Champions League playoffs against London's Arsenal (1-0). At that moment, Pepe was 40 years and 360 days old.
It's worth noting that the footballer's contract with the Portuguese club runs until the summer of 2024. In the current season, the defender has played 23 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals and making two assists. According to Transfermarkt, Pepe's market value is 800,000 euros.
