Makhachev next time he will step into the octagon against Alex Volkanovski at UFC 284, which is scheduled for February 12 in Perth, Australia.
Makhachev had his last fight against Brazilian Charles Oliveira last October at UFC 280. Islam won that fight by choking in the second round.
Last February, Makhachev met with Bobby Green of the United States at UFC Vegas 49. That fight ended in favor of Islam by TKO in the first round. On his account he has 23 wins and one loss.
