UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has spoken out about the incident with promotion president Dana White forgetting his name.
White forgot my name at the press conference? It's not easy for Americans to pronounce my name. The last name Makhachev as well as the last name Nurmagomedov is not easy for Americans. They often mispronounce them. Of course, White respects all champions.

Islam Makhachev will make his first defense of the UFC lightweight title against Alex Volkanovski at UFC 284 on February 12th.
Makhachev, 31, defeated Charles Oliveira by second-round choke at UFC 280 in October. He has a record of 23 wins and one loss.
