Maxim Lyashko, a prosthetic designer, answered the question about the future of Russian figure skater Roman Kostomarov, who lost several limbs after an illness.

Previously, Kostomarov had already had his left foot and toes amputated due to necrosis and sepsis. It was reported that doctors managed to avoid the amputation of the right leg by scraping away the dead tissue.

Modern technology makes it possible for a person who has lost a limb to become active again. Technology keeps advancing, prosthetics can help athletes to even take part in physical activities. Of course, it would be difficult to form and select prosthetics for figure skating, but it is possible.

Recall, January 10, Match TV reported that 46-year-old Kostomarov was hospitalized in a serious condition with signs of unilateral pneumonia and influenza.

The media wrote that the athlete was put in a medically induced coma and connected to ECMO and ventilator systems.
