Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox Prediction: Twins to avenge game one defeat in home series

The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox are locked in another series in the AL Central division. The first game at Target Field ended in a confident 12-2 victory for the Chicago Sox. Will the Twins be able to take revenge in the second game? We'll pick a few bets at once.

Despite a crushing loss to the White Sox in game one of the series, Minnesota retains first place in the American League Central Division. The Twins' lead is less certain, though. Rocco Baldelli's 49-42 team is just 3.5 wins ahead of Cleveland and four wins ahead of the Chicago White Sox. Minnesota, therefore, could lose its lead in the division very soon.

Devin Smeltzer, 4-2 and with a 3.92 ERA in 11 starts this season, is Minnesota's starting pitcher for Game 2 of the series with the White Sox.

The first game of the series in Minneapolis is the third straight win for Tony La Russa's team. Prior to that, the White Sox finished the series perfectly with Cleveland, winning the final two games. So even recently, Chicago's large gap from their direct competitors in the AL Central has already narrowed to 0.5 wins against the Guardians and four against the Twins.

Michael Kopech, 2-6 and a 3.35 ERA in 16 games, will start for the White Sox in the second game of the series with the Twins.

The score in the season series is 5-2 in favor of Minnesota.

White Sox recently gained a good progress, and according to the away statistics in general, they rank third in the American League after Houston and New York Yankees. But Minnesota's home court performance is excellent, too. The Twins will obviously have a tough time in the upcoming game, but they can hardly afford to lose to Chicago for a second time.

Prediction: Minnesota will win.
