Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Prediction: The Wolves may get swept here

The NBA Playoffs signify that teams are in an intense race for the title and fortunes can overturn in a jiffy. This is because, unlike the Regular Season, a losing streak means the end of the season. In another first-round match-up, the Minnesota Timberwolves look to save their season against the Denver Nuggets.

The Timberwolves continued to be rolled over by the Nuggets and lost game three by nine points, allowing 120 for the second straight game. Matters were tied in the first quarter but then the Nuggets built a six-point lead in the first half. Timberwolves had a solid offensive third quarter and the six-point lead was maintained by the Nuggets. Then the Nuggets didn’t let the Wolves come nearer than five points. The Timberwolves' defense once again let them down and shot 57.1% while dialing in 40.6% from the three-point line.

The Nuggets had terrific scoring balance and six players scored at least 12 points and Michael Porter Jr. led the way with 25 points. Jokic had 20 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in another amazing triple-double. For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards led the way with 36 points and Karl Anthony-Towns had a strong game with 27 points. Rudy Gobert had a double-double, scooping up 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Timberwolves defense continues to let them down and their depth has been questionable too.

The Nuggets look unstoppable and the Wolves have had no answer for them thus far. It is interesting how the Wolves will approach this game because their confidence must have been splintered by now. The Timberwolves have some scoring talent but their defense has deserted them repeatedly. That is why I expect the Nuggets to close it out by a big margin and predict a scoreline of 126:114 in their favor.
