Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill Prediction: an Old Hero to Throw a Rio Carnival

Many predicted a crushing defeat for Teixeira against the ambitious Czech Jiri Prochazka. Still, he showed a crazy attitude, fought in spirit, and his smiling bloodstained face between rounds will go down in history forever. Teixeira looked excellent and even won the fight on points, but he made a mistake in the last minute of the final round and lost to Prochazka by submission.

The rivals should have had an immediate rematch, but Prochazka's injury messed up everything. The Czech withdrew for a long time and vacated the title, and Glover refused to go out fighting in December without proper preparation against Magomed Ankalaev. The fight between the Dagestani and Jan Blachowicz ended in a bizarre draw, and the belt remained vacant. Immediately after the bout, Dana White announced that Glover would fight Jamal Hill for the title in Brazil.

The 31-year-old American fighter got a title shot by coincidence, simply because he was available for UFC 283. Hill is a pronounced knockout fighter going unbeaten for three straight bouts. He knocked out Jimmy Crute and Johnny Walker and then defeated Tiago Santos by technical knockout. In other words, Jamal could be called a "downed pilots" specialist.

Of course, we wouldn't call Hill a deserving contender, but the fight will happen. And it's a terrific chance for Jamal to become the strongest in the welterweight division. He will be highly motivated and try to perform at his best.

Hill's plan will be as simple as possible - he will look for the knockout. That's what he does best; let's be honest, he has nothing else to offer Glover. The Brazilian looks more versatile. He's a very competent fighter, but even standing, he's not afraid to go to the real clinch - Jiri Prochazka isn't lying. Apart from that, the tournament will take place in Brazil.
