Arman Tsarukyan began his professional career in MMA in 2015 in the Far East, and in his first nine fights, he won eight times in the first round and suffered one defeat. He was not ready and was knocked out already in the thirtieth second of the fight. After fighting in various leagues, he debuted in the UFC after Islam Makhachev. Arman lost the fight on points, giving Islam the most challenging battle. He still does not agree with the referee's decision and dreams of revenge.
Then there was a fantastic run in the UFC with one misfire (loss to Mateusz Gamrot), and now Tsarukyan has three wins in a row, the last two by knockout.
In his last fight, he finished top contender Beneil Dariush.
The fight with former champion Charles Oliveira is crucial for Arman - a victory could open the way to a title shot and a rematch with Makhachev. But this victory must be unconditional.
Until 2017, Charles Oliveira was nothing and lost a lot. But then an unknown thing happened - he suddenly became a notorious jiu-jitsu fighter, went over the top, set record after record (for many early wins, wins by submission), and finally became the champion in the most competitive division, knocking out Michael Chandler.
In 2022, he lost the belt (he couldn't keep up with the weight), but Justin Gaethje still choked him in the first round. Then he lost to Makhachev and knocked out Dariush.
All the talk about Oliveira not being the same came after the loss to Islam, in which the Brazilian was frankly bad. It is his only unsuccessful fight in the last five years (although he fought exclusively with the best), and the reasons for this are still in the dark (but most likely they are psychological).
Expert Betting Tips
Charles Oliveira has only lost to Islam Makhachev in the last five years. He finished all the others playfully, but for some reason, everyone stopped believing in him, even the bookmakers - the current champion is just an unseemly underdog.
He has a heavy punch and an unexpected technique in the standing position. Arman has all of this but has yet to test his skills at such a high level (while Oliveira has recently put the likes of Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, and Michael Chandler).
Theoretically, Tsarukyan can take advantage of Oliveira's physical strength and speed, but will it be enough to win?
