Service providers are beginning to adopt more sophisticated traffic management strategies, specifically focused on more positive, proactive forms of traffic shaping like prioritization, and wider use of traffic offloading.

According to a research done by Telesperience for Volubill, 57% of communications service providers indicated they are considering implementing new traffic shaping strategies, focused on prioritization by service type.

Also, while only 20% of CSPs said they currently use traffic offloading technologies, a further 53% are strongly considering using it by 2012 – bringing the total to 73% of operators.
