Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom has signed an agreement with Vodafone to allow it to offer discounted mobile roaming rates in 17 countries. The companies will later extend the partnership into the sharing of customer premises equipment.

Apple plans to open 40-50 new retail stores in 2010. More than half will be in locations outside of the US, including two in Shanghai.

Indonesian cellcos AXIS and XL have signed a national roaming MoU, the first of its kind in Asia. The agreement gives AXIS full access to XL’s network in Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

UK carrier BT has boosted Q2 ebitda by 2% to £1.4 billion ($2.3b), despite a 6% fall in underlying revenue. The Global Services group improved ebitda by 53%, BT said.
