SingTel-owned Optus said in a statement that it has acquired IT professional and managed services company Ensyst, as part of the telco’s plan to bolster its ICT capabilities and Microsoft offerings to its business customers.
The acquisition, reportedly worth A$13 million ($10.6 million), also include Ensyst’s offices in Sydney and Melbourne and its 80 employees.
Ensyst is a Microsoft partner and was a founding member of the Microsoft Australia Cloud Solution Provider Program with expertise in areas such as Lync, SharePoint and Office 365. Its customer base spans financial services, education, government, health, construction and mining, manufacturing and services sectors.
John Paitaridis, MD, Optus Business, says Ensyst brings skills and expertise that will complement its existing ICT and managed services capability, which will accelerate the company’s growth strategy.
“We see Ensyst playing a critical role in deepening and enhancing Optus Business’ Microsoft capabilities, which is critical for our business and government customers given that Microsoft is a leading provider of enterprise applications” said Paitaridis in the statement.
“Ensyst has proven capability and experience to design, build and manage on multiple cloud environments so their expertise provides a good fit to complement skills and services of our ICT business – particularly in cloud, collaboration, and business applications and services,” he said.
Separately, Optus has renewed its wholesale agreement with MVNO amaysim, under which the latter will start deliver prepaid and postpaid services using the Optus 4G network from around April next year.
