Indosat Ooredoo knew that data is the lifeblood of smart cities. So, the company launched Kota Digital Indonesia, an integrated, open source and open data smart city platform that uses published APIs. It won the Most Innovative Smart Cities Project award.
“This means local governments and the developer community can both create applications and manage data through the platform, accelerating the development of smart city solutions that meet each individual city’s standards and requirements,” said Herfini Haryono, director and chief business officer of Indosat Ooredoo.
Kota Digital also addresses another challenge that plagues all digital projects: talent shortage.
The platform helps “city governments tap into emerging digital talent pools and the local developer communities when developing solutions” to drive a range of digital initiatives, added Haryono.
