Ghana head coach Otto Addo has confirmed he is leaving his post after losing the match against Uruguay in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

I said back in October last year when I started as head coach of Ghana that I would leave after the World Cup. At this point, my family and I see our future in Germany. I like my role at Borussia Dortmund.

On December 2, the national team of Uruguay defeated the national team of Ghana in the third round of the group stage match in the World Cup-2022 in Qatar, which ended with a score of 2-0. Midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta scored a double for the winners.

The Ghanaian team with three points finished last in Group H. Uruguay finished third in the group with four points. Portugal with six points advanced to the playoffs from first place. South Korea, with four points and the best extra ratings, finished second.
