Former UFC heavyweight champion, Cameroonian mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou has spoken out about his decision to leave the promotion.
It was a decision, if it was up to me, I wouldn’t have taken that decision. The situation made me make that decision, but it wasn’t something that I was expecting or that I was thinking. I had a contract that I have no leverage in that contract. No power. Nobody can advocate for me.

Recall, in October 2023, Ngannou made his debut in the boxing ring, losing to WBC world champion Tyson Fury by split decision.
The 36-year-old Ngannou made his last mixed martial arts fight against Ciryl Gane in January 2022 at UFC 270. In this confrontation, Francis won by unanimous decision of judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record.
