UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira admitted that he couldn't fully prepare for his title fight against Israel Adesanya because of injury.
I didn't have proper preparation for the fight, I could have performed better. But I won and became champion. I had torn ligaments. I think I'll be better prepared for the next fight.

Pereira and Adesanya met in the Octagon Nov. 13 at UFC 281. The fight ended with Alex winning by TKO in the fifth round.
In July of this year, Pereira had a fight against the American Sean Strickland at the UFC 276 tournament. Alex won that fight by knockout in the first round. Pereira had seven wins and one loss. Adesanya has 23 wins and two losses.
