England women won the Netball series versus New Zealand overcoming a ten-point halftime deficit. The win is also historic for England because it is their maiden series win versus the White Ferns. Both teams played shorthanded as White Ferns missed key players in Ameliaranna Ekenasio and Jane Whiston while English women missed Jo Harten, Helen Housby, Stacey Francis-Baymen, and Natalie Haythornthwaite.
Eleanor Cardwell nailed 25 of the 26 field goals for England while Maia Wilson clasped 29 out of 33 field goals for New Zealand. England had 54 attempts from the floor while New Zealand had 53 even when New Zealand had 11 extra attempts till the half.
We coughed up 14 points [after leading by 10 at halftime]. It just shows there's areas we need to work on, the gaps with regards to what we need to do when we're starting to capitulate or we're starting to pull ourselves apart.
