Kent set a total of 169 for Somerset to win the T20 Blast championship but the latter fell short by 25 runs. Kent came into the game after beating Sussex by 21 runs while Somerset clinched a come-from-behind victory in a thriller against Hampshire, winning by two wickets.

Somerset reduced Kent at 75-4 but then a flurry by Jordan Cox who made 58 off just 28 balls saw them piling up 168. Other than Cox, Crawley made 41 off 33 as Dutch spinner Roelof Van der Merwe impressed with figures of three for nineteen.

Somerset then lost attacking batsman Tom Bantom just on the second ball of the innings. Soon after, Lewis Goldsworthy also fell when the score read just three runs. Then the impressive Tom Abell and Will Smeed formed a 58 runs partnership but when Abell fell at 61, the batting collapsed. Somerset lost six wickets for just 58 runs being reduced to nine for 119 and Merchan de Lange and Josh Davey couldn’t even get close to the target in the end. Jordan Cox won the Player of the Match Award.
