Football insider Cesar Luis Merlo reported that 51-year-old Argentine specialist Mauricio Pochettino will sign an employment agreement with Chelsea after the end of the 2022/2023 season.
According to the source, the contract with Pochettino will run until 2026. The sides have already agreed on the terms of the deal. The Argentine will start to work from June 2023.
The British edition of The Telegraph reported in April that Pochettino is the favorite to become the manager of the Pensioners. It must be recalled that at present the Londoners are managed by Frank Lampard, whose contract is valid until the end of the 2022/2023 season. The 44-year-old veteran of the club, the top scorer in the history of the "Blues" became the caretaker manager after the dismissal of Graham Potter.
After 35 games played, Chelsea are eleventh in the EPL table with 43 points. The Pensioners have lost their place in the European competitions at the end of the season.
