The bout between former double UFC champion Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler could be the main event of the UFC 303 tournament, which will take place on June 29 in Las Vegas (USA). This was revealed by Cody Durden during the announcement of his return to the octagon.
Durden wrote on social media:
I'm back in the octagon on June 29 versus Carlos Hernandez. UFC 303. Michael Chandler versus the Notorious Conor McGregor.
Chandler, 37, last fought in November 2022 at UFC 281, losing to Dustin Poirier via third-round choking submission. He has 23 wins and eight losses on his record.
McGregor, 35, last fought against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. In this fight Conor was defeated by technical knockout after breaking his leg. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
