19-year old Emma Raducanu shot to fame after she won the US Open title, being the first one to win the heralded tournament as a Qualifier. Ever since the stars have been against the young talent. She has not been able to make even the Semis of the four tournaments since then and well, there are a lot of factors that have worked against her amidst the high expectations. That is why she even said once that she needs time to rise up again and that tennis fans should give her a leeway for now. And now, before the Australian Open, the star lost in the Round of 32 to Elena Rybakina 0-6, 1-6, but she said that she had not found time to prepare due to a bout with COVID-19. Let us hear what she has to say in her own words.
Emma Raducanu, Tennis player, England
I've not been able to train so much but practice has been heading in the right direction. I'm excited to play. Obviously the preparation hasn't been ideal, but in the past week I have been enjoying playing here. I've not being able to train so much because if I train too much I will just get injured. I feel like there's no pressure on me. I feel like I'm just happy to be here and have a swing.I had to jump a few hurdles to play here, so I just want to go out there and have fun and enjoy being on the court.
