Pittsburgh vs Detroit: The Lions to extend their losing streak

Jared Goff is doing very badly in Detroit, or it is Detroit that is in trouble with Jared Goff. Either way, the Lions approach the Week 10 game in Pittsburgh with zero wins, the only ones in the NFL so far. Will the Steelers inflict another defeat on the Lions?

When the Steelers lost 3 of 4 games at the start of the season, it looked like it was over for the team of Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger. But Pittsburgh wouldn't be one of the most consistent teams in the NFL in recent years if they weren’t capable of turning the tables. After a 1-3 start, the Steelers have won 4 straight games and are back in the playoff race. Pittsburgh is second in the AFC North division and would catch up with the Baltimore Ravens, who lead the quartet, if they beat Detroit.

Of course, Ben Roethlisberger should be singled out on the Steelers roster. The legendary quarterback is most likely having the last season of his career and therefore is not sparing his health. Despite numerous untreated injuries and new ones, Big Ben played all 8 games for his team. Roethlisberger has 1,986 yards per pass, a composite percentage of nearly 70 and 10 passing touchdowns to four interceptions.

The Lions approach Week 10 of the 2021 championship with zero in the win column. The team from Detroit remains the only team that has never experienced the joy of success. Even Houston has one win under its belt. And the Jets and Jacksonville have two wins each.

Detroit has now lost 8 games. Last week, Dan Campbell's team rested, and in Week 8 they were defeated at home by Philadelphia, 6-44. And these are the results all season long.

The last official face-off was in the 2017 regular season when Pittsburg beat Detroit away, 20-16.

In the preseason of the current championship, the Steelers also win against the Lions 26-20 on the home field.

Detroit's revamped offense, led by quarterback Jared Goff, isn't working at all. The team is averaging only 16.8 points per game. The Lions are unlikely to have any chance to fix the stats against Pittsburgh's top-tier defense. Detroit are probably going to extend their losing streak to 9 matches.
