Jack Sock vs Alexander Bublik:

Alexander Bublik, in addition to delighting tennis fans with his eloquent speeches, is slowly gaining in professionalism. And sometimes one gets the impression that this man can grow into a really strong player after all. The new challenge for Alexander on the New York court is a match against Sock, the Olympic champion in the mixed doubles.

Cary, Atlanta, Washington, Cincinnati - this is where Sock had been before his first match at the 2021 US Open. 3 wins and 4 losses, nothing special, which is actually natural for the No. 184. Potentially, Sock is a very decent tennis player, but lately the American has lost his status. No wonder he’s a clear outsider for the upcoming match. 

It’s interesting that Bublik has been quite a favorite lately. He beat Kukushkin at Wimbledon, Karlovic and Jung in Newport, Evans in Toronto, Giron in Cincinnati, and Hanfmann in New York with Handicap (-12.5)! Bublik obviously lacks concentration for the whole match, but when he's mobilized he's very good, both at serving and receiving. In Toronto, Bublik fought Daniil Medvedev and even managed to win a game against the Russian, so we should not underestimate the Kazakhstani player. 

Sock is clearly not on the mark now, unlike Bublik, who has finally found confidence and his style. It is very important for the Kazakhstani to get off to a good start, morale is crucial.
