According to Relevo, Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian football manager, is facing two charges of defrauding the Treasury of over €1 million. These charges stem from his first stint at Real Madrid between 2014 and 2015. The prosecutors claim that during this time, Ancelotti failed to declare income from image rights and instead only reported the income he received from Real Madrid. They further accuse him of setting up shell companies to conceal his extra earnings.

The tax office said in a statement that
Although he himself declared himself to be a tax resident in Spain and indicated that his home was in Madrid, he only declared in his tax returns the personal remuneration received from Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti, who is currently 64 years old, previously coached Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015 and then returned to the club in 2021. He is widely regarded as one of football's most successful coaches, having won league titles in all five of Europe's top leagues and also securing four Champions League triumphs—two with AC Milan and two with Real Madrid. Additionally, Ancelotti won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2010.
